MAF – Mission Aviation Fellowship
MAF is a Christian organisation that provides aviation, communications and learning technology services to more than 1,000 Christian and humanitarian agencies, as well as thousands of isolated missionaries and indigenous villagers in the world’s most remote areas. In this way, MAF enables practical help, physical healing and spiritual hope to be delivered to many of the most remote and inaccessible communities on the planet.
MAF have three major operational centres – Nampa, Idaho, USA, Ashford in the United Kingdom and Cairns in Australia. These centres provide operational support to programmes in the Americas, Africa and the Asia Pacific region.
The needs of each MAF programme are different but, in each location, MAF fills a unique gap: for example, in Timor-Leste, the focus is on humanitarian aid and medevacs, for Papua New Guinea, it is supporting mission partners and community development, for Arnhem Land, it is on building up the indigenous church, and in East Africa it is providing accessibility to remote and often insecure areas for medical and humanitarian aid, in partnership with missions and other organisations.
