How does this passage help me to love all different types of people at church?
How do my ambitions need to change in light of this passage? What does practical gospel partnership look like at Riverside?
Thank you that you will complete the work the work you have begun in me.
May our love at Riverside abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, and may we be filled with the fruit of righteousness.
Help me to pray, give and serve to your glory.
Preparation for sermon on Philippians 1 v 12-30 “Joyful Ambition” (21/01/2018)
- Read Phil 1:12-30
Paul’s commitment to Christ is total. This shows in his determination to see the gospel preached and his rejoicing however that happens and whatever circumstances it brings him.
It also shows in his ambitions for himself. To live is Christ and to die and be with Christ is even better.
Would people pick up from listening to me that I am committed to Christ?
Can I honestly say with Paul that to live is Christ and to die is gain?
God, help me to love Christ more so that I want to live my whole life for Him now and so that I long to be with him when I die.
Please fill me with love for Christ so that I want to speak boldly about him to everyone I can
